Over the two days, we will learn the basics of Yang style Tai Chi movements, as well as some of the moving meditation practices (Qigong). We will also learn and practice martial arts applications as well as discussing the health benefits and how to bring this practice to your students and staff. We will also discuss the background and history of Tai Chi as a martial art and how the health benefits are a side “bonus”. Participants taking the course for college credit will demonstrate a portion of the form, one each Qigong exercise and martial application, teach either a Qigong exercise or a martial application they have gleaned from the form, and write a brief paper.
