The Mandt System is a relationship based, behavioral crisis interaction training with a focus on building trust in and supporting people, not just their behaviors. This training gives teachers tools to manage themselves and helps them teach others to manage their own behavior, recognize early warning signs of potentially violent behavior and intervene proactively through de-escalation and positive behavior supports.
The Mandt System® integrates knowledge about the neurobiological impact of trauma with the principles of positive behavior interventions and supports, and provides a framework that empowers staff to do their work in a way that minimizes the use of coercion in behavior change methodologies. In this framework, organizations are supported to improve the quality of life of all stakeholders in the organization: individuals served, staff, families, and friends of the person served.
The Mandt System will help you develop a culture that provides emotional, psychological, and physical safety for everyone, where students and staff can say, “in this place, and with these people, I feel safe.“ Instructors and staff learn the same concepts which makes our training flexible and able to address individual workplace cases. This approach allows us to shape fundamental concepts to the unique situations of any workplace. Our training gives teachers and students the tools to affirm their feelings and choose their behaviors, so that you can keep yourself and others safe during challenging interactions.
The areas covered are: healthy relationships, communication, conflict management, trauma-informed, PBIS, and physical skills.
