Region III CSPD & MRESA is hosting this free 3 part webinar about the effects of trauma on the students. The focus of these sessions will be on acute and chronic trauma, effects of trauma on the developing brain with a special focus on trauma related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how educators can help support students through this unprecedented time. Evidence-supported school-based practices and interventions that promote resilience will be explored beginning with psychoeducation around trauma and the intersection of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on children and adults. Attendees will also learn about the interconnection between trauma-Informed practices, Restorative Justice practices, PBIS, and culturally competent schools and receive guidance on how to integrate these practices into a cohesive implementation plan. Attendees will leave with specific tools to implement in the classroom to help support students at a Tier I level.
