Introduction to the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching

This session provides an understanding of the structure, architecture, and vocabulary of the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching, also identifying how the Montana Educator Performance Appraisal System (EPAS) aligns with this system. Participants will develop an awareness of the different levels of performance and how to use the rubrics to analyze professional practice. Special emphasis is placed on component 3c: Engaging Students in Learning. Session Objectives:
  • Develop an understanding of effective teaching practice as it relates to instruction in a standards based classroom
  • Explore the instructional shifts necessary to build engaging lessons for MCCS content
