SUMMARY:Support Students' Resiliency & Self Regulation with Proactive Trauma-Informed SEL Practices
DESCRIPTION:It is critical that we understand how trauma has impacted our students’ development and growth\, and how it will impact their ability to learn and regulate their emotions and behavior\, while in school. All students\, whether impacted by trauma or not\, must have a safe\, supportive\, and predictable learning environment in which to belong; it is our job as teachers to create and nurture that learning environment. \nDuring this course\, participants will learn how to sustainably create and maintain a safe\, collaborative learning environment in which students can thrive. Trauma-informed social emotional learning strategies will be taught and practiced throughout; with an emphasis on teaching our students how to become resilient\, self-regulate\, and advocate for their needs. \nProactive trauma-informed practices are not just for those with a traumatic past\, they are for all educators and all students; learn how to implement many research-supported strategies that you can immediately utilize in your classroom. \n\nDate:  Tuesday-Wednesday\, July 16-17\, 2024\n8:30 AM – 5:00 PM daily (1 hour lunch break\nLocation:  Online\nCost:  $45$110\nRegistration:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/10Ue5KS-ucl0qQ70DAbSBRkHaST5KCM0ndrTdPB6SXhg/edit?usp=sharing [docs.google.com]\nContact: Alyssa Cliver\, alyssac@gtccmt.org
