Each year the OPI partners with the state agencies from North and South Dakota to sponsor the Northern Plains Law Conference. This conference provides attendees an opportunity to discuss legal issues in special education with national experts, and to hear what other state and local agencies are doing to address issues that arise. OPI CEUs will be available. Please consider joining us in Bismarck this year.
The Northern Plains Law Conference on Students with Disabilities will cover special education legal issues, including the latest information from due process hearings, circuit court cases, OSEP/OCR guidance letters, and basic IDEA procedural requirements.
This conference is designed for general/special education staff, administrators, state/school district attorneys, state education agency staff, related services staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
A Pre-Conference, which is open to school district attorneys, special education directors, general education administrators, dispute resolution contractors, and SEA staff, will be held on September 30, 2019. The Pre-Conference will focus on the roles and responsibilities of the general educator within special education. If you are eligible, we invite you to visit the registration site and join us.
