Naturalist in a Day Teacher Workshop

The Naturalist in a Day Teacher Workshop is for K-12 teachers who want to deepen their knowledge of the natural world and learn to incorporate the study of natural history into their classrooms. We’ll teach you the skills you need to identify local plants, birds and insects. We’ll also share some lessons you can use in your classroom to engage your students in hands-on science lessons that meet Next Generation Science Standards.

Monday June 3rd or Thursday June 13th from 8:30am – 3:30pm

Course co-instructor Heather Bilden is the community programs coordinator at the Montana Audubon Center. She has her MEd in Environmental Education through a joint program with the Teton Science School and MSU-Billings. She has been teaching place-based nature education programs in Billings since 2008. Course co-instructor Alina Garner is the school programs coordinator at the Montana Audubon Center. She has a BS in Biology. She has developed and led school programs in Billings for the past two years.
