Building Positive Mathematical Identities through Posing Purposeful Questions
Join Montana Math Matters fifth year of statewide professional development. Participants will: Learn how to develop positive math identities within in all of our students. Engage in the effective teaching practice of posing purposeful questions to assess and advance students’ reasoning and sense making on important mathematical ideas and relationships. Review the power of questioning, question types, and determine focusing vs. funneling questions. You will leave with access to math resources you can use in your classroom.
