Hosted by the Region III RESA, this course will provide the best practices in developing a student-centered Individual Education Plan (IEP). Topics covered in this course will be: assessments, data collection, develop PLAAFP, MAGs, transition plans, and progress reports. This course will walk through the necessary steps of data collection to build the foundation of a student’s IEP and move into the development of the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) and Measurable Annual Goals (MAG’s). Participants that complete this course will gain a strong knowledge of writing IEPs that are legally defendable and compliant without losing the focus on the child. In addition, participates will gain insightful ways to facilitate student-lead IEPs.
