This course will consist of trauma informed responsive classroom practices for working with students and families. Participants will learn about student-centered, social, and emotional learning approaches to teaching and discipline. This will include relationship building practices for students and families, research and evidence-based practices designed to create a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom community. Teaching strategies will include human-centered learning systems that allow students to feel a sense of belonging, are able to establish healthy developmental social skills, regulation skills, and will include behavior planning strategies.
