The last two school years have been an incredibly difficult time for students and teachers around the world. Mindful movement and awareness practices are tools we can use to help cope with the unique changes and challenges that have arisen, as well as to equip teachers and their students to better withstand the ups and downs of life.
Join K-8 licensed educator and RYT-500 yoga teacher Ashley Sherburne in an engaging and hands-on workshop that will provide you with practical knowledge, tools, and skills needed to implement mindfulness practices in your classroom. These practices will include movement, breathing techniques, sensory awareness, visualization, relaxation, and art. We will discuss how to make mindfulness instruction trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equitable so that all students feel safe and supported in your classroom. Importantly, you will go home with a toolbox of techniques that you can use to support yourself, so that you can be a more resilient and happy educator.
