The Framing Routine

  The Framing Routine is an instructional tool that helps students understand and remember essential information and focus on relationships between main ideas and details as well as among several main ideas. Teachers and students use the Frame, a graphic organizer, to develop a thorough understanding of information associated with key topics and main ideas. The Framing Routine supports all aspects of literacy: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking. Participants will receive the following as part of their registration: the Framing Routine instructor’s guidebook, access to the Professional Development Course on Canvas, access to digital teacher resources, and an individual follow-up coaching session with the professional developer.
