Teaching Students with Dyscalculia
This course prepares educators to teach students with dyscalculia. Students who complete the Teaching Students with Dyscalculia course will understand the Specific Learning Disorder dyscalculia. They will recognize the differences between dyscalculia and low numeracy. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to identify dyscalculia as opposed to other math struggles. They will be able to explain the neurological differences between typically developing and dyscalculic brain functions. Participants will choose appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions to support students with dyscalculia.
