Supporting Readers with Informational Text

This course is a reading methods course for any teacher who wishes to deepen students’ comprehension and engagement with challenging informational text. This course will teach you how to help any reader by modifying lesson structure, teaching and modeling comprehension strategies, and employing fix-up strategies when comprehension breaks down. This course was created by Dr. Tammy Elser in partnership with the Salish Kootenai College (SKC) and BRAIDS (A Native Youth Community Partnership Project hosted by SKC).
