Integrating STEM and Literacy K-12

This professional learning workshop will explore meaningful ways to teach science, technology, engineering and math through the incorporation of literacy skills. Participants will experience lessons that use children’s books as a mechanism to teach STEM concepts that align with Montana Science Content Standards (and Next Generation Science Standards) and address Montana Content Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy. The course is designed to raise teacher confidence in teaching STEM concepts, and also assist in planning for an integrated classroom.  Sessions may be broken down into more specific grade ranges (K-5, 6-12, for example).
