Foundation Literacy 101

This presentation will describe the early literacy learning skills and everyday routine teaching strategies in preschool classrooms that provide the foundation for young children’s next steps of early reading and writing in kindergarten and first grade. You will gain a deeper understanding of the early literacy processes in oral language, phonological awareness, and print knowledge and take away a number of strategies that you will be eager to try that will make an important difference for the young children in your care.
