In this course, teachers will see models of how to have students take ownership of their learning and amplify engagement and inquiry in their classrooms. Teachers will explore how bridging the community to our classrooms can have a significant impact on the value students place on learning and the outcomes of student assessments. Be ready to infuse one of your current lessons with student inquiry, community involvement, and place-based learning to create more rigor and relevance. We will spend time outside of the classroom collaborating with community members and brainstorming ideas for students who need to see relevance in what they are learning.
